Academy Freedoms
FASNA are aware of the high level of interest in the Government’s proposal to create more academies from amongst ‘successful’ secondary and primary schools. FASNA has been working nationally to contribute to the effective implementation of this policy and is mindful of the excitement this opportunity has created. The Briefing that can be found here provides a summary of the detail as we understand it. Initial information relating to the workshop FASNA will run in conjunction with Stone King Sewell , our legal advisers on the opportunities this Bill affords to our member schools can also be accessed. Following the success of our first workshop in June a further one will be held in London on Thursday 16th September, 2010. FASNA plan to host further follow-up seminars and will keep members advised of further developments. There will be a ‘New to Academy’ training seminar on 24th November for those schools that are opening as an Academy in the near future or are likely to become an Academy in the next academic year.
