FASNA Spring conferenceThe FASNA Spring conference will be on Thursday 12th March 2009. New DCSF Admissions consultationThe DCSF has launched a consultation on both new admissions and admission appeals codes. The documents can be downloaded from the DCSF website or from the links below. document The consultation has now ended but members are urged to study these. The codes could be in force for 2009 appeals and the 2010 entry. The current education bill will place a duty on LAs to report on "legality, fairness and effectiveness of admission policies in their areas". Changes to admission forums are proposed and a wider role for the Schools Adjudicator. Members who did not attend the summer conference should read the presentation notes available from the Members' pages at FASNA Summer conference speakers' notes. Members may find it helpful to read the FASNA response to the proposals, which can be downloaded by clicking here. FOUNDATION AND TRUST SCHOOL STATUSFASNA is working in a consortium with the Specialist Schools & Academies Trust and the Youth Sport Trust to advise and support schools considering Foundation and/or Trust status.
